I want to talk about what I saw or I felt in Yonsei University during last two weeks. About research, four professors introduced their study experience or research outcomes to us, such as Kangwha Study for kids and CMERC cohort study for general population, in which I learned what information needs to be collected, and how to measure as accurate as possible to get reliable results. When it comes to analyzation, I see different ways of looking at the problem, and using tools in other area like social network, suggesting that combining medical health with sociology, psychology and economics may help to find new mechanism. And professor Jung shared with us why she chose current direction and became an epidemiologist studying on association between mental health and physical health, which inspired me a lot.

Another main part of schedule is Korean language class. Although it’s impossible for me to become a fluent Korean speaker, I enjoyed these classes a lot. Learning from basic pronunciations and letters to simple communication, Korean language class built a bridge which helped me understand Korean culture better. In daily life, staff in Yonsei and hospital noticed us if there were any changes in schedule, and they kindly prepared lunches and drinks for us during lecture at noon. And Miss Kim led us to a one-day traditional trip, from which we had a deeper understanding of Korean history and culture.

In conclusion, I indeed felt your passion, and cautious attitude for research, and your enthusiasm and kindness for us. As professor Kim said, we are now facing many healthy problems, such as ageing and NCDs, so the purpose of the CAMPUS Asia Project is to promote communication between students from Korea, Japan and China, and to contribute to finding a solution in the future. This two-weeks trip teaches me a lot and I really appreciate it.
